The Spiral of Theodorus, also known as the square root spiral, visually represents the growth of square roots using a series of right triangles. Each triangle has one leg of length 1, while the hypotenuse represents the square root of a sequential natural number. Starting from a 1×1 right triangle (hypotenuse = √2), each new triangle is built using the hypotenuse of the previous triangle as one of its sides. This geometric construction helps illustrate how square roots increase in a non-linear fashion, growing progressively larger while forming a natural spiral shape.
